We’re really excited to launch our Spring 2014 Memoir Writing Program!

Red Umbrella Project offers free, peer-facilitated Memoir Writing Workshops for individuals with experience in the sex trades. In our workshops, participants generate new writing in class and at home (handwritten or typed are both fine), build their writing skills and confidence, share their stories and get feedback from peers, and ultimately publish a piece in our biannual literary journal Prose & Lore.

There are many ways to get involved in our Spring 2014 Memoir Writing Program!
— pick up a copy of Prose & Lore: Issue 3 when it’s released later this month!
— check out one of our drop-in writing classes on Feb 3rd or Feb 17th at our downtown Brooklyn office!
— apply as a new or returning participating writer in our 8 week Memoir Writing Workshop held in Manhattan!
— for our long distance writers: send us a story pitch for Prose & Lore: Issue 4!

Applications for the Memoir Writing Workshop & Peer Editing Mentor Memoir Program are due Feb. 17th at 10pm EST. Feel free to contact workshops at redumbrellaproject dot org if you have any questions!
